Leading to~~ the ~~current three most populated worlds, Kemsin, Jemzal and Kuni. Splitting into two distinct social groups~~, the ~~Kemsin~~ and ~~Kuni people~~, ~~who regard Kemsin as the home~~ of ~~their people, and the Jemzal, which considers their dynasty, the Jem,~~ the ~~true home and Kemsin populated by those cast out~~ to ~~these worlds to develop in peace~~. Yet they failed to develop faster-than-light travel of their own and were while exceptionally developed, had only sent occasional slower-than-light explorations into nearby systems by the time they were encountered by the Directorate in 2054 as one of ~~the first peer-powers encountered~~. The ~~encounter involved~~ the ~~capture of the Directorate exploratory ship, and reverse-engineering of~~ the ~~FTL systems. Proper contact came 11 years later in 2065 when the ship and its crew were returned to the Directorate and a cultural exchange was made~~.		Yet recent investigations in the past decade have challenged this notion, instead showing that while the kobari and kemzali are a closely related pair of species, kemzali are themselves a singular clade of multiple species that have evolved the capacity to reproduce with each other. The current belief is they evolved as competing, hermaphroditic species that slowly developed a method of gene-stealing from others to prevent stagnation of their genetics. With the kobari species developing as rapidly reproducing prey animals that slowly grew into sentient servants. Evidence points to psychic capacity in even the oldest kemzali ancestors, which have led to the noosphere-theory of evolution, in which this development was influenced by the psychic subconsciousness of the biosphere. The Kemzali's history alters most dramatically in the last ten thousand years with their achievement of space travel. So complete are the transfer of species from Kemsin to Jemzal, that it is unclear and debated, even by impartial scientists, which world the kemzali--or any of the species of the system, actually evolved on.
