Outworlders

Outworlders describe a vast quantity of species that are native to known space-and beyond. An outworlder is explicitly not a individual species, nor does it simply designate someone from a far-flung area. It is a species which is otherwise unlisted or uncovered among the others within some designations. Outworlders are generally defined by relative conformity with other sophonts that may not have the galactic presence to make themselves universal.

Physical Description

There is no uniformity to outworlders, but they are usually designated by limits: They are capable of locomotion, they are sophonts between 0.7 and 1.7 on the Fariq-Allowah intelligence index, they are primarily organic beings, they are a non-gestalt intelligence, and they are physical. It is assumed they also evolved semi-naturally, or are at least not obviously biologically altered by unknown forces to specific roles.

There are no overarching outworlder heritages.

History

Different outworlder species would have their own histories, but as a broad designation the term first comes from the Directorate encounter with the Nakathi people as a description of the first non-Fennish people encountered on the world of Vaa in the Jesoba system and is used something as a catchall term. It is considered politically neutral and inoffensive, though generally outworlders would prefer to be known for their actual species or culture.

Society

There is no overarching outworlder society, though they are usually beholden in part to a larger social system.

There are no overarching outworlder belief systems.

Style Guide

Outworlders are an application only species, but this is not considered a particularly strenuous application. An outworlder should not have extreme influence on the galaxy around them, but may command a cluster of planets or a small state of their own.
