DS-11

The kemzali made spacestation Selaa Hohr, meaning 'Selaa's Wrath', now officially known as Distant Sands-11 is the personal station of Selaa Maala, a 477 year old kemzali matron and is one of the key Directorate locations along the Coreworld March and your current home.
Overview and Specifications
1455 meters tall 460 meters long and 284 meters wide with 100 decks along its main body varying between 10 and 30 meters in height and with 27 decks along its two primary towers. Selaa Hohr can hold up to 3000 residents, and additional 4000 kobari and requires 67 crewmen. Additionally its external secondary ring can hold 30 kemzali, up to 60 guests and a contingent of 1000 kobari. It is capable of travel, though its sub-light maneuvering is slow, clumsy and unremarkable in performance, even for kemzali starships.
Its facilities are opulent for a station, with 11 hangars, 3 massive biome-simulation decks for hunting and recreation and a furnished miniature city of markets, malls and other amenities.
History
Construction on the station began 2782, and development was finished in early 2794, Selaa Hohr was designed with the express purpose of aiding colonization efforts for the Maala dynasty, christened and given to her child, Selaa to colonize Son-Sallari in the Azar system. A life supporting world near the Ayun-Ji border, after extensive investigation, the world was deemed unsuitable for colonization due to endemic primitive life previously evaluated as simple beasts. While in the region it was involved in preliminary scouting efforts when the border situation began deteriorating and its purpose was turned to clandestine operations and was armed in response to the tension at the border with Ayun-Ji.
War of Ruz'kahni Survival
While not prestigious and it was involved in only a few skirmishes. Selaa Hohr's primary role was as a fleet tender and mobile base, which it served admirably as. It was retired from service in the final months of the Ruz'kahni portion of the war in 2813, it was damaged in severe resupply incident when the Cruiser RDEF-AK Hazzan impacted it at high velocity. The details of the incident are ill explained and all hands, 1322 in total, were lost aboard the Hazzan along with 112 onboard the Selaa Hohr. Repairs kept it from action through the aftermath two years and it returned to functionality in late 2816.
Colonization Efforts
After War of Ruz'kahni survival, the massive numbers of refugees from war-torn worlds on the Ayun-Ji front needed somewhere to go, and with returning reports of access routes into the formerly ill explored dark regions, the Selaa Hohr was moved to support these efforts and expand the interests of the United Families in the region. its adjacency to the clan's control region made it a convenient step, and it is currently the largest singular Directorate station in the region. Since encountering with the Alganna Eternity, it has become host to significant, rather than simply clan oversight to the chagrin of the United Families.
Design
A large station, it is fundamentally in three parts. The outer ring, which is meant to separate kemzali from the guests and settlers in the main station and is carefully designed to make the residents able to live without any need to interact with each other. The main shaft which is power, storage, docking systems, spartan living quarters for visitors and tools for tending other vehicles. The upper portion, while capable of operating independently via emergeyncy separation contains the backup reactors, FTL and maneuver drives, and the vast majority of life supporting decks.
Manufacturing Technique
As typical with the technology base of the kemzali, the ship is bio-mechanical, possessing significant biological systems to maintain and repair its structure, made up of the plastic-like bone substance wathui for structure. Its peculiar combination of machine and biological entity makes it difficult for most non kobari engineers to fully understand. An advantage of its design is its nearly impossible for the station to lose gravity. With each floor using the family's super-gravity and anti-gravity materials, ensuring each floor has a consistent up, down, and the level of this up and down can vary between floors based on purpose. Caking these layers between the different panels and rooms.
Defenses
Selaa Hohr's defenses are currently stripped down and include 112 relatively potent hnad plasma projectors along its length, 40 assault ships and 260 fighters and 12 corvettes. A relatively large load-out, though it currently lacks the personnel to operate all of its defensive equipment. During wartime, it had its same 112 hnad projectors, two spinal planetary-assault projectors, 1300 fighters, 200 assault ships. 6 light destroyers, and 16 corvettes.
AI System
One of the most peculiar aspects to the station is its usage of a thinking machine. Kemzali stations normally have nearly no functional automation, preferring a vast population of kobari who's biological functions are related to manipulating systems and taking the place of traditional automation. During its design, Selaa Hohr used an experimental clan Ames-Svet system, integrated with its biological systems. It is a peculiar unity of two relatively uncommon (and ill reputed) systems within the Directorate and the exact design, while a clan secret, has been cause for religious concern even among highly secular clans.
